Wrestling will be back before fans know it and things return to their normal schedule.
The University of Northern Colorado Wrestling Program announced this week the upcoming schedule for the 2021-22 season.
The UNC will host five dual tournaments, as well as a day-long multi-double tournament to start, as well as hosting co-Big 12 Champion Oklahoma and Wyoming.
Northern Colorado returns all four NCAA 2021 qualifiers and leads in one of the top 15 classes.
The Bears will compete in 11 doubles and three tournaments during the regular season, before traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Big 12 Championship in March. The NCAA championship will be held in Detroit.
The Bears have not experienced a traditional wrestling season since 2019. The 2020 season has been halted due to the arrival of COVID-19 in the United States, and the 2021 schedule has been curtailed due to coronavirus concerns.
Senior Alan Clothier, junior Jackson Hemauer, sophomore Andrew Alirez, and sophomore Mosha Schwartz all qualified for this spring’s NCAA tournament. Hemauer also took second place in the Big 12 Championship. They try to improve their finishes this season.
